RideOn Privacy Notice
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This notice explains how RideOn – Ride Companion, operated by Anthony Chase / Chase-On (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use the iPhone app and its companion features. For privacy questions or requests, contact Checkonapp@outlook.com.
Your personal ride library
RideOn stores your garage, motorcycle details and photos, checklists, maintenance information, reminders, saved places and routes, ride history and recorded GPS tracks on your device. These records are not automatically published to other riders. Apple Watch, widgets and CarPlay may display or exchange information needed for the companion features you use.
If you enable iCloud Backup & Sync, your library, photos and recorded tracks are uploaded to your private iCloud storage and synchronized with your enabled devices using the same Apple Account. RideOn keeps up to 10 recovery backups. Turning off sync on one device keeps the existing iCloud library and backups; it does not delete them. Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and privacy information.
Location, motion, Bluetooth and notifications
With the relevant system permissions, RideOn uses location for navigation, ride recording, nearby places, weather, road awareness and the location-sharing features you choose. Recording, navigation, supported automations and enabled ongoing sharing may use location while the app is in the background. Your permission choices and iOS background restrictions affect whether these features work.
Apple Maps and Apple Weather receive the searches, route or location information needed to answer your requests. Opening a route in another maps app sends the selected destination or route information to that app. Exporting or sharing a GPX file can disclose exact coordinates to the recipient or app you choose.
Bluetooth connects tire sensors and provides pressure, temperature and related alerts. Motion data supports eligible road observations and motion recordings you start. Notifications provide reminders, ride information and social updates according to your choices. You can change system permissions in iOS Settings and feature choices inside RideOn.
Club, friends and community features
Club is optional. Sign in with Apple gives RideOn an app-specific account identifier. Our sign-in flow does not request your Apple Account password, email address or name. We store your chosen username, display name, profile and privacy choices, account/session identifiers, and the content needed for the social features you use. This may include selected motorcycle details, shared statistics, posts, route deliveries, group rides, messages, invitations, friendships and blocks.
Cloudflare hosts the RideOn social service and its database. The service processes content you submit, authentication information, device registration and push tokens, request information and operational records needed to deliver the service, protect accounts and limit abuse. Network providers receive connection information such as IP addresses. Apple delivers push notifications. RideOn messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
Your card and privacy controls determine which details are shared. Friends-only content is available to authorized friends. Content you explicitly publish to the community, public ride information and opted-in community statistics can be seen by other community users. A username or invitation link can help other riders find your account. Blocking or removing a friend limits future access, but cannot retract screenshots, exports or independent copies already saved by another person.
Location sharing and road reports
Location sharing is separate from advertising consent and is off until you enable it. You choose friends, community or both and the available precision controls. Community sharing uses an approximate area. Approximation reduces precision but does not make your location anonymous. Ongoing sharing can continue outside a ride until you turn it off, subject to your permissions and iOS operation.
The live-sharing service maintains your latest position rather than a history of fixes. A position expires from live results after approximately 90 seconds without a valid update. Saved sharing choices may remain enabled so sharing can resume when a fresh position becomes available. Stopping sharing removes the current share when the service receives the request; an offline device cannot immediately update the server.
Road reports and eligible shared road observations are separate submissions. They can contain the observation location, time, type, accuracy and feedback, together with account-related information used to validate and moderate reports. Other riders can receive the report or a derived road condition. Expired reports stop appearing as current; server cleanup generally removes expired road records after seven days and related feedback, reviews or cancellation records after fourteen days, depending on the record type.
Optional AI tools
When you request AI route drafting, route-place research or motorcycle artwork, selected instructions, text, documents, images, motorcycle details or route/place information needed for that request pass through our service to OpenAI. These tools do not automatically upload your entire photo library or ride library. Only submit material you want processed for the request.
Route tools may follow map links you supply and use web search or public mapping sources to research places. Those providers receive the relevant requests. AI results require your review and are not a guarantee of route accuracy or safety.
Our route service does not store the original source text in its database. Temporary route results are available for recovery for approximately 24 hours; saved results in your personal library remain until you remove them. Other job records and usage counters support recovery, service limits and abuse prevention. Provider processing and retention also follow the applicable provider terms. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default; see its business data privacy information.
Facebook and Instagram advertising measurement
RideOn integrates Meta App Events to measure Facebook and Instagram advertising and help create or improve advertising audiences. In production builds with this feature, RideOn initializes the Meta SDK only after iOS App Tracking Transparency reports that you have allowed tracking. Declining tracking does not prevent use of RideOn. Development and Beta builds have this integration disabled.
After permission, Meta may receive app installations, app opens, session and other supported automatically collected app activity, purchase or subscription events where applicable, advertising/device identifiers, app and SDK versions, device and operating-system information, timestamps and network information such as IP addresses. Collection also depends on Meta’s app settings. Meta may associate this information with other information it holds to attribute ads, measure performance and deliver relevant advertising.
RideOn does not attach recorded routes, GPS coordinates, garage records, messages or photos as custom advertising-event parameters. Advertising permission does not enable Club location sharing. We do not upload your Club member list or personal ride library as an advertising audience.
You can view the feature in RideOn Settings → Advertising privacy and change tracking permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Withdrawal stops RideOn from requesting further advertising activations and disables its local advertiser-ID and automatic-event switches. It does not undo processing of information already sent. Meta’s own collection, matching, retention, advertising controls and rights processes are described in the Meta Privacy Policy.
Why we process information and who receives it
We process information to provide the features you request, synchronize and recover data, communicate with you, maintain security, prevent abuse and comply with applicable obligations. Optional advertising tracking relies on your permission. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, other processing may be necessary to provide the service, pursue legitimate interests such as security and support, or meet legal obligations. Optional features may require additional consent.
Recipients include the people you choose to share with; Apple for platform, iCloud, maps, weather, sign-in and notifications; Cloudflare for hosting and security; OpenAI when you use AI tools; Meta when advertising tracking is enabled; and other apps or websites you deliberately open or share to. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and service security. Providers may process information outside your country under their applicable arrangements and privacy terms.
Subscriptions, purchases and AI credits
Apple processes App Store payments. RideOn does not receive your payment-card details. Purchases require a signed-in RideOn account so we can associate verified Apple transactions and unused credits with that account. Our Cloudflare service stores transaction and original-transaction identifiers, the RideOn account identifier, product, purchase and expiry dates, refund or revocation status, and credit balances and usage. We also record numeric AI usage, such as token counts, to operate and measure the service; the purchase ledger does not store signed receipts, prompts or photos.
Minimal purchase and credit records remain after account deletion for transaction reconciliation and to prevent duplicate credit claims. Deleting the account removes access to its purchases and unused credits. It does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account. Contact us about retained records using the privacy contact below.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Your local library remains until you delete its items or remove the app. Items placed in Archive or Trash may remain recoverable until permanently removed. Optional iCloud copies and backups are separate from the installed app and may remain after uninstalling it. Manage those copies through the available RideOn and Apple storage controls.
To delete your social account, open your Club profile/account controls and choose Delete Club account. Recent Apple authentication may be required. This removes the server account and associated social records and clears that account’s local social cache after server confirmation. It does not delete your separate personal ride library or independent copies another rider already saved. Deleting your copy of a conversation does not necessarily delete the other participant’s copy.
Some security, operational, quota, backup or legal records can remain where needed for their purpose; service-wide usage counters are not reset by account deletion. Provider copies follow the provider’s retention and deletion processes. Contact us for help accessing, correcting or deleting information, withdrawing consent, objecting to processing, or requesting portability or restriction where these rights apply. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account. Depending on your location, you may also complain to your data-protection authority.
Security and children
RideOn uses measures such as encrypted network connections, authenticated access and system-protected credential storage. No system can promise absolute security. Choose sharing audiences carefully, particularly for routes and live locations. RideOn is designed for riders and is not directed to children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed.
